Obituary
Wofton was born
March 2nd 1947 in Newark, New Jersey to Eva and
Wofton Stewart
Senior. He grew up and attended school in New Jersey.
He attended
college at Bluefield State College in West Virginia.
Wofton began his
military career at the age of 18, he served 28 years,
stationed in
many countries. In October of 1977 the Lord blessed Wofton
with a traveling
companion his lovely wife Lonett Viney who he met in
Kansas City,
Missouri. They traveled the world together and took the
union of
marriage to a higher level of respect and honor for each other.
They were
determined to live and enjoy life as a holy union ordained by
God. In 1988
they were blessed with their son Sebastian Wofton Stewart
who they both
love dearly. Wofton was a proud father who raised his son
to be a fine
respectful young man. Wofton often thought of how he and
his family could
be a blessing to others. Wofton was a very talkative
person who had a
genuine concern for all people. His passion for the
armed services
often encouraged others to explore the same career. He
endured
suffering for a while but, thank God it was not long. On January
10th
at 12:17p.m. he left pain and suffering behind for peace and rest. He
leaves to
rejoice at his home going his loving wife and son of the home,
two sisters
Cheryl Gamon and Janice Stewart of Montclair, New Jersey.
Seven
Sister-in-laws who loved him dearly, Coretha, Sharlotte, Tasha,
Zelda, Shelia,
Elsie and his Mother in law Sister Corean Viney, his
special uncle
Leroy and Aunt Hattie Ruth Porterfield. Many nieces and
nephews and a
host of friends and family who felt privileged that
Sergeant Wofton
James Stewart, Brother, Uncle Lucky and friend passed
this way.
